Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to an Aerial Photographer Father and an Accountant Mother (with a green thumb), Barbie spent much of her childhood in front of a camera.  Her Father was one of the first at the time to own the exciting Kodak 8mm home movie camera.  Filming and tagging along with him in his 2-seater Cessna airplane was always a bonus (especially when flying upside down).  Acting was a joy for her throughout the years, with theatrical performances here and there.  It was not until Barbie chose, in 2006, to leave the Corporate world behind that she was able to pursue the Artist's Life without distraction.

 

She is a SAG-AFTRA actress, booking Nationwide. She has built her body of work in both drama and comedy, portraying authoritative businesswomen and politicians, long-suffering mothers, distressed widows, an evil scientist, sharp-tongued matriarchs, cheery neighbors, a quirky makeup artist, and even an owl. Regardless of genre, Barbie's character portrayals all include emotional depth with an occasional glimpse of the unexpected. She is professionally trained in film/television acting and scene study and she keeps her instrument well-tuned with weekly training in a Master Class at the Cody Mayo Acting Studio. She regularly attends CSA Casting Director workshops / SAG-AFTRA specialized seminars to study auditioning skills, character building, script analysis, and screenwriting.
